Description
The Mount Jomolhari Trek is a premier 12-day journey to the base of the sacred 7,326m "Bride of Kanchenjunga." Starting with a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest, the trail winds through rhododendron forests to the stunning Jangothang Base Camp. Trekkers enjoy front-row views of Jichu Drake while spotting rare wildlife like blue sheep in high-altitude alpine meadows. The route challenges adventurers with steep ascents over the Neyle La and Yaklay La passes, both nearing 5,000m. After a scenic descent along the Thimphu Chhu, the expedition transitions into a cultural tour of Punakha and Thimphu. This trek offers a perfect blend of demanding Himalayan wilderness and deep immersion into Bhutan’s rich spiritual heritage. Note: We would be happy to offer hotel upgrades based on your preference and comfort level. If you wish to stay in higher-category properties (such as premium 4-star or luxury hotels), we can arrange the upgrade for you. However, please note that any additional cost arising from the upgraded accommodation will need to be borne by the guest and will be added to the final package price accordingly.

Touching down at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly received by your dedicated guide and driver.
- Explore the architectural grandeur of Rinpung Dzong
- Discovering Bhutan's rich heritage at Ta Dzong, the National Museum.
- Embark on a scenic pilgrimage to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery.
- Afterward, find peace at Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred spiritual sites.
Overnight Paro
Cover a 9 KM distance over 4–5 hours, starting with a drive past the historic Drukgyal Dzong and Tsento village. The trek begins with a gentle walk along the Paro Chhu river, winding through lush forests toward Shingkarap. Conclude the day's journey by settling into your first mountain campsite, nestled at an elevation of 3,110m.
Overnight Shingkarap
Navigate a 15 KM stretch over 5–6 hours as the trail follows the serene banks of the Paro Chhu. Winding through ancient pine, oak, and spruce forests, you will cross a mountain bridge before ascending through vibrant rhododendrons. The day concludes with a steady climb to reach your scenic campsite at an elevation of 3,670 m.
Overnight Soi Thangkha
Cover 17 KM in 5–6 hours as you climb beyond 3,700 m and leave the tree line for wide, river-carved vistas. The path leads through the high settlements of Soe and Takethang before arriving at the spectacular Jangothang (4,040 m). Spend the night at this iconic base camp, waking up to the massive north faces of Mount Jomolhari and Jichu Drake.
Overnight Jangothang
Acclimatize with a 4-hour hike north of camp, climbing open slopes for views of Jichu Drake and Mount Jomolhari, with chances to spot blue sheep and other wildlife. Alternatively, take a short trip to Tshophu Lakes or relax at Jangothang camp (4,040 m).
Overnight Jangothang
Trek 18 KM over 6–7 hours, crossing a mountain bridge before ascending a ridge with sweeping views of Jomolhari and Tserim Gang. The climb culminates at the Neyle La Pass (4,830 m), where the landscape opens up to reveal the vast Himalayan wilderness. Descend into the valley to reach your camp at 4,010 m, featuring a stunning backdrop of the historic Lingzhi Dzong.
Overnight Lingzhi
Walk 19 KM over 7 to 8 hours as you head south through the beautiful Mo Chhu valley. Climb up to the highest point of the trip, Yaklay La Pass (4,942 m), to see amazing views of the snowy peaks. Afterward, head back down the mountain to reach your next camp at Shodu (4,100 m).
Overnight Shodu
Cover 16 KM in 5–6 hours as you descend back into the greenery of alpine forests along the Thimphu Chhu. The trail features dramatic cliffs and cascading waterfalls on the way to the ruins of Barshong Dzong (3,630 m). The trek officially concludes here, followed by a relaxing drive to Thimphu for your overnight stay.
